The purpose of this study was to measure that the elapses time between trituration and condensation has effect on, compressive strength of conventional and spherical amalgam.
In comventional amalgam, after time between trituration and condensation was elapsed ¨ù ,1.2.3.4. and 5 minute, in spherical amalgam, was elapses ¨ö ,1, 2¡¦and 11 minutes, triturated amalgam mass was packed in metal mold by amsler Spring Tester with condensation pressure 250 kg/cm2 for 2 minutes. Using all specimens were tested compressive strength with Tensile Merchine Tester after 24 hours. From the experiment, following results were obtained.
1. Generally, the greater the elapsed time between trituration and condensation, the less is compressive strength in conventional and spherical amalgam.
2. In conventional amalgam, compressive strength was excessively decreased elapsing time between trituration and condensation, .and in spherical amalgam, was slowly decreased.
